This week, BESTO PTO and The Residence at Bedford made a special visit to Lane and Davis Schools, delivering over 100 new books collected during our recent Book Drive!

A huge thank you to Allison Melahouris, Davis Liaison VP, and The Residence at Bedford for leading this incredible initiative and supporting our school community.

We're also grateful to everyone that donated a book to help fill our classroom libraries. Your support helps foster a love of reading and builds brighter futures for our students!

The BEST PTO is looking for parent volunteers to teach in our World Language Program at Davis Elementary!

This fun, before-school enrichment program introduces 1st and 2nd graders to new languages through songs, games, and hands-on activities. 

Program Details:

• Two 6-week sessions:
  • Session 1: March 2 – April 10, 2026
  • Session 2: May 4 – June 12, 2026
• Classes meet once a week for 30 minutes before school in the Davis library
• Small class sizes (about 6 students)
• As an instructor, your child/children attending Davis school can participate in the World Language Program without having to go through the lottery selection process

Join our pumpkin Smash this Saturday, Nov. 8, at John Glenn Middle School from 2-4 pm. 

Kids (and even young adults!) have fun smashing pumpkins  - so they don't end up in the trash - and families can learn about the benefits of composting and various ways they can accomplish this.
